Between the two of them,
Richard Baskin, left, and
Jonathan Taplin have covered a
lot of ground in entertainment,
from composing the music for
Nashville,to managing Bob Dylan
tours and producing Mean
Streets.
Now this duo is entering
uncharted territory by trying to
develop the first successful
interactive entertainment network
for PCs and TV. Known as
Intertainer, the new net is being
tested in a few markets, offering
consumers with high-speed
phone or cable lines the chance
to order movies and music on
demand and shop in virtual malls.
Since the service comes directly
from access providers like
Comcast and Pacific Bell, and not
over the Net, it boasts full-motion
video that rivals TV.
